Helena Tynell is a designer who was active from the 1950s to the 1990s. She plays

with light and is especially known for her bubble lamps. Her vases are colorful and have eccentric shapes. A real eye-catcher in your interior!
Career
Hellin Helena Tynell (1918-2016), better known as Helena Tynell, was born in Finland.
Helena Tynell is a designer who started her journey at the Helsinki School of Applied Arts, where she graduated in 1943 as a model designer.
After this she started working at Arabia, a Finnish ceramic company known for its special designs of products. At the same time as this work she was also a designer for the company Oy Taito Ab, a lighting manufacturer. Here she met her husband and her love for glass grew.
In 1946 her career moved to Riihimäki, also a glass manufacturer. She worked there until 1979. Her career blossomed, and certainly as a female designer it is special that she has grown so much. In the year she started here her work was exhibited for the first time, this was at an exhibition of Norwegian art and crafts in Stockholm.
During this time she was also a freelancer and designed products for companies such as Iittala, Flygfors glassware and Glashütte Limburg .
Bee Iitalla They still make glassware to this day.
Helena Tynell's work has been exhibited a total of 4 times;
- Art salon Strindberg in Helsinki in 1966
- Finnish Glass Museum in Riihimäki in 1982, 1986 and 2018
Her work can also be found in several museums, such as the Design Museum in Helsinki and the Corning Museum of Glass in New York.

For her vases she uses many colours and different shapes. Her mid century vases are diverse, she uses a lot of angular and round shapes and she also often came up with different patterns.
